Hello there, I'm Natalie!
I'm a UX designer based in Florida with a background in
science, teaching, art design, business, and military.
Blanche and I
Over the years I've acquired a unique (and random) set of skills. This is the result of my many passions and my ability to learn quickly, and thankfully, I garnered many proficiencies which is pretty awesome!
With my career diversification, I noticed I merged two approaches: my scientific thinking approach with my imaginative creative approach and therefore the shift into UX Design was very natural and alluring.
Going back to my time as a scientist, I heightened those well needed troubleshooting skills via research, testing hypotheses, setting up experiments, and drawing conclusions.
As an educator, I was fortunate to teach various topics in science which sharpened my public speaking, adaptability, and leadership skills, but most importantly, I learned to simplify complex concepts to be comprehensible. It was gratifying to witness as I thoroughly embraced the success of my students.
As a woodworking business owner, I further refine my human-centered approach by customizing my designs to complement my client’s vision. I do this by initially drawing digital 2D or 3D designs on AutoCAD to help visualize the end product (my digital drawings are also great for 3D printed projects). Additionally, I welcome the client to get involved throughout the construction as it enhances their connection to their piece. I love this integrative process because it makes the build more special.
If I'm not in the office, you can guarantee that I’m outdoors or in the woodshop. I’m a world traveler and adventure daredevil, hardcore skier, mountain biker, surfer, horse rider, and yogi. I’m an animal lover and a lover of all people. I believe in continuing education, kindness, and paying it forward.
