Defier is unique of its kind and landed me my first art exhibition. I was invited as a featured guest among many great abstract artists. It was a challenge to step out of my comfort zone and create an abstract piece while staying true to my own style which is dimensional and optical illusionary mainly involving wood.
Defier represents the defiance of gravity as the paint 'drips' horizontally. Additionally, it represents entropy - the second law of thermodynamics - where a system will always go from a state of order to a state of disorder. This is represented by the wood logs, from a pristinely processed log to slowly becoming wildly chaotic.
